A family in Narsanji Wadi in Mahim area is being stopped from relieving themselves as a woman has locked the BMC toilet as a revenge for not allowing her child to play tennis in the adjoining place. The victim has finally registered a complaint in this regard.

According to information, Fernandes family resides in Narsanji Wadi in Mahim and they are not being allowed to use the public toilet of the BMC from last two months. Even after registering a complaint in this regard, no action is being initiated, alleged Upasana Fernandes. Giving more information, Upasana Fernandes said that she had complained against some children who had blocked the way to a public toilet by placing tennis net to practice their game. The concerned authorities had instructed those kids to remove the net and not to play tennis there. As a revengeful act, Alzira, a mother of one of the kids, locked the public toilet and did not open it even after getting directions from the concerned authorities. The lock at public toilet has been broken thrice till date.

Fernandes family has demanded that the BMC’s public toilet should be made available to them.

Meanwhile, Ramakant Biradar, assistant municipal commissioner of G-North ward, said that the authorities are doing their work but this dispute is a result of personal differences of the concerned families.

“We broke the lock of the toilet after getting directions from the authorities. We don’t know who lock this toilet again and again. We have formed a team of women and no one has complained anything about this public toilet. Only Upasana Fernandes is experiencing problems and the complainant has not even paid a maintenance of this toilet,” he informed.
