Rainfall to recede, respite for Mumbaikars

On September 19, it started raining around 8 am and all Mumbaikars were chilled as no one knew that this was going to last long. However, when the rainfall started increasing, people thought that this will be the replica of August 29, 2017, when city witnessed heavy rainfall and lot of people lost their lives.

All went into panic mode. The rains were so heavy that many trees fell, however (fortunately) no casualty was reported. Post 2 pm, rainfall increased with gusty winds and it continued until next day i.e. September 20. Mumbaikars woke up to a moderate rainfall but as their nature goes, many left home for their office. Despite peak hours, many were surprised to find trains less crowded and vacant seats in usually crowded trains.

However, Indian Meteorological Department, the BMC, and police officials are asking people to stay away from the sea as high tide is expected at 12:03 pm and low tide at 6:04 pm.

Also, those who have to reach offices around noon time, better they leave before time as trains are running 15-20 minutes late. There is also a possibility that, the train might stop working if it continues to rain the same. Only college goers and school children have nothing to worry about as they are the only ones who have got an official leave.

Mumbai Live urges all the Mumbaikars to stay safe and alert in this monsoon. Venture out if necessary.
