While crime against women in the country seems to be the common standard to many, as per reports, three men allegedly raped a 22-year-old woman for over 2 years and blackmailed her using filmed videos in a bid to continue the atrocities.
This heinous crime occurred at Malad, Mumbai. According to sources, the Dindoshi police have booked all three accused and arrested two accused — Fayaz Shaikh, 31, and Sadiq Patel, 27, while the third, Nadeem, is absconding.
While the incident of gang-rape of a 19-year-old girl in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, is fresh, there happens to be an atmosphere of pertinent anger among the citizens over this incident.
As per reports, the accused Fayaz Sheikh lives next to the 22-year-old victim residing in the Dindoshi area. In June 2018, Fayaz had called the woman home and raped her with a knife. At the time, the accused Fayaz made a video of the woman and shared it with his friend Sadiq Patel. After this, Sadiq Patel taking advantage of the situation threatened the woman, blackmailing her and eventually raping her.
The duo then sent the video to their third friend Nadeem, who also started blackmailing the victim. Finally, the victim lodged a complaint with the Dindoshi police against the accused. According to the victim, the police have registered a case under Sections 376 (2) N, 354, 345D, 506 (2) of the IT Act and 66E. According to the information received, on September 29, Dindoshi police arrested both Fayyaz Sheikh and Sadiq Patel whereas their friend Nadeem is still absconding.
