169 illegal religious sites will be acted on by November 17: BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta

According to Bombay High Court’s order, after ordering to take action on illegal religious places in Mumbai, BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta ordered the concerned authorities to complete the proceeding before November 17.

Mumbai has 495 unauthorised religious sites, out of which action has been completed at 326 religious places and on the remaining 169 religious places, the action on November 17 will be completed.

On Saturday, the monthly meeting of BMC officials was organised under the leadership of BMC Commissioner Ajoy Mehta.

In this meeting, Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, I.A. Kundan, Abasaheb J-Hadd, Deputy Commissioner Ramesh Pawar, along with other top BMC officials were present as well.

Compared to last year, cases of potholes have gone down this year. This year April 1, 2017, to October 4, 2017, there were complaints of 1,463 potholes. Out of which, 1,327 potholes i.e 90.70 per cent have been filled up.

In the year 2014-15, the BMC received 14,455 pothole complaints. In the year 2015-16, it was 5,316 and 4,478 in 2016-17.
