Residents say no to flyover

SHARES

Chunabhatti - State government has planned to come up with a flyover which will enable people to reach Everard Nagar from BKC. However, this plan has not gone down well with the residents of Ambekar Nagar. These residents have been staying in this society since 45 years which was also honoured with ‘Greenery Society’ award in 1986-87 by BMC. Yet, neither BMC nor developer gave them the hint of construction. “Our society is well known for its clean surrounding. But now we feel trapped. They start their work at anytime and it goes on for long hours. We are unable to breathe pure air and we are surrounded by loud noise all the time. When we dry our clothes they also become dirty due to air pollution,” said Vijay Kolhatkar, a resident. Initially this project was scheduled at Somaiya ground but then it was shifted.
