The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NVMC) will be undertaking pre-monsoon maintenance work at main waterway and Bhokarpada water treatment plant on Wednesday which will lead to water cut in several areas and the water supply will remain affected.

According to NMMC, the water supply will remain affected in Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbh, Sanpada, Koperkhairane, Ghansoli and Airoli division of the municipal corporation from the evening on June 10. Moreover, the tap connection to the water supply in the NMMC area will also be affected.

Along with this, the water supply from Kamothe node of Navi Mumbai under City and Industrial Development Cooperation (CIDCO) will also be shut during this period.

As the NMMC undertakes the pre-monsoon maintenance work in these areas, the water supply will resume on June 11 in the municipal corporation areas. Although the water will be supplied, it will be at low pressure and for a few hours only.

The NMMC has appealed the citizens to cooperate amid the pre-monsoon maintenance work being carried out by the civic body and has asked them to use water carefully.

The monsoon season is right at the doorstep in Maharashtra and is likely to hit in Mumbai around June 11. However, the monsoon arrives later on June 25 last year. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that the monsoon could arrive later this week.
