Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope has stated that shop timings may be extended from 4 pm to 8 pm. Dinning at restaurants may be allowed for longer hours at 50 per cent capacity. Restaurants and non-essential shops may be permitted to function till 4 pm on Saturday, but restrictions on Sunday could continue. The number of guests at social events is expected to be increased.

Narratives claim that Rajesh Tope elaborated on how malls, theatres may operate at 50% capacity. The state will also be pushing that staff at shops be fully vaccinated. The use of air-conditioners is expected to be discouraged by the authorities where many people will be present, such as wedding halls. The government is looking to advocate the opening of windows for enhanced air circulation.

If reports are to be believed, there isn’t an agreement amongst the authorities on resuming local train services for all. After a meeting with railway officials, a decision is expected to be undertaken. Tope is said to have spoken about the huge manpower needed to check passengers, additionally, with cases in Kerala on a rise, local train services may be pushed back for a few weeks. Consequently, many discussions regarding the restrictions were initiated and surges are being monitored for the preparation of a possible third wave. Economic reliefs had to be offered to the business community, said Tope.

Districts, where relaxations may not be offered, are a cause of concern and if needed further restrictions may be brought there, mentioned the health minister.

Reports also state that the CM Uddhav Thackeray has asked the authorities to see that the guidelines are adhered to, to prevent any further surges.
