The heavy downpour on September 4 resulted in four fatalities out of which two were Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) staffers who were on duty. 

The incident took place at Siddharth Nagar in Goregaon in the Western suburbs of Mumbai where the deceased who have been identified as Vijayendra Sardar Bagdi (36) and Jagdish Parmar (54) drowned in the water while they were on duty. They were rushed to a hospital where they were declared dead. After the investigation, it was stated that Bagdi fell and drowned in the nullah whereas the latter suffered a heart attack. As these staffers were on duty when they died, BMC has announced ₹1 lakh compensation for the kin of the deceased along with offering one person of the family a BMC job.

A total of four people have died during the incessant rains on September 4. Another reported casualty was of Mohammed Shahrukh Rafique Shaikh (24) who drowned in the Mithi River as it was overflowing in Bandra Kurla Complex's (BKC) Bharat Nagar. A case of accidental death has been registered in the BKC Police Station. 

Ashok Mayekar (60) was found dead near Hindmata in Dadar and his body was found floating. The autopsy report has stated that he died after drowning.
