Citizens were going to stage a sleeping protest on Sunday, September 22 at Dadar's Shivaji Park. The protestors were all set to sleep at the circumference of Nana Nani Park which would display the lethargic government's inaction towards Aarey. The aim of the protest was to mirror the government's slumber spanning five long years.

However, the police reached the site even before the protest started and stated that they cannot protest at the location as it was a silent zone and demanded a permission letter, which the protestors did not have. After a lot of sprawls, the police stated that they should protest at places like Azad Maidan or the Aarey site with a permission letter. To which the protestors said that Azad Maidan is inside and won't really draw the citizen's attention that is required. 

However, with a never-ending spirit, the activists, citizens and environmentalists continued the protest at the Aarey Colony site of Metro 3 (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) car-shed. Here are some of the pictures of the protest at Aarey Colony on Sunday, September 22:
