There are many political parties that have come out to support not cutting of trees in Aarey Colony. Now, Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA) too has joined the list. VBA spokesperson Dr Arun Sawant stated that his party has been supporting the Aarey villagers and they refrained from coming into the forefront as this is an environmental issue and it would not be appropriate to politicise it.
Sawant accused that the government has been injecting slow poison in people's lives and cutting down so many trees which will eventually lead to us breathing polluted air.

While chief minister Devendra Fadnavis has voiced his support for the project, ally Shiv Sena has opposed cutting down of the trees. But VBA alleged that Sena's stand on the issue was hypocritical as previously, Sena had encouraged the construction of Royal Palms resort in Aarey, and now they are just doing this to woo the voters.
Sawant also called out the state government and called them a government that disregards science.
The airport gets affected due to the rains every year because the Mithi river flows beneath the airport, nobody speak about this issue as the government disregards science,” said Sawant.
