Officials from TMC have informed about the the repair and maintenance work that will be conducted at Barvi Water Purification Station and hence, the water supply will be stopped from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm on Friday.

Officials at the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) have planned the repair and maintenance work in the city on Friday, November 20. Keeping this in mind, the civic body has informed that several areas in the locality will face water cut for 12 hours, i.e. from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. This might cause inconvenience to the residents, but the officials have requested for cooperation in this regards.

Sharing more information, TMC stated that the repair work will be conducted at Barvi Water Purification on the feeder of the high voltage power substation. Officials from the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation will be performing the work during the day and the water supply will be cut for the same reasons.

Residents have been asked to make necessary arrangements, as the supply will be affected in the following areas/wards

  • Diva
  • Kalwa
  • Mumbra
  • Nalpada
  • Vartaknagar
  • Wagle
  • Areas in Lokmanya-Savarkarnagar
    • Keninagar
    • Kisan Nagar No. 2
    • Nehru Nagar
    • Rupadevipada
  • Areas in Majiwada-Manpada
    • Balkum
    • Kolshet Village

Besides this, officials have also informed that the water supply will be restored in the evening, however, residents will have to note that the pressure might be low for the following 48 hours. TMC has requested the people to ensure water is stored as per requirements and used wisely.
