The Metro 3 (Colaba-Bandra-Seepz) construction is underway which has resulted in diversion and blocking of many routes in the city. Over 200 Shiv Sainiks from South Mumbai and residents from Girgaon had protested against Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and private builders due to a surge in air and noise pollution in the area on Monday, November 18.

The protest was held as the residents are facing traffic snarls in the area for a long time with no respite in sight. Not only has the Metro construction blocked major roads but also the construction work from builders like DB realty are worsening the situation.
Talking about the same, Shiv Sena leader Ravindra Nirlekar stated that they have demanded a probe into who has authorised the entry of heavy vehicles in these areas which is creating so much pollution, traffic hazards, damaged roads and health problems to the citizens. Notably, near Thakurdwar there will be 'Kalbadevi' station of the Metro 3 route.
