A Shiv Smarak and Shiv Mudra will be installed on the road leading to the international airport in Navi Mumbai. Cultural Affairs Minister Adv Ashish Shelar has directed that CIDCO to take action in this regard.
Shelar was speaking at a meeting organised in the ministry regarding the erection of a Shiv Smarak and Shiv Mudra near Atal Setu. MLA Mahesh Baldi, MLA Prashant Thakur, Secretary Dr. Kiran Kulkarni, Navi Mumbai Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailash Shinde, CIDCO and MMRDA officials were present at this meeting.
He said that Maharashtra has a rich historical and cultural heritage. It is necessary for everyone to be aware of this cultural heritage. Navi Mumbai is becoming international in the district of Raigad, the capital of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Tourists from all over the world will come to the airport. At that time, some things need to be done to understand the culture and heritage of Maharashtra.
As a part of this, Shelar has also directed that a proposal must be prepared to seek funds for the construction of a Shiv Smarak and Shiv Mudra near Atal Setu. He has instructed that CIDCO should submit the proposal for seeking funds to the government and get its approval to expedite this work.
He also said that all the implementing agencies should obtain various permissions from the department in connection with the construction of Shiv Smarak and Shiv Mudra. Therefore, Shiv Smarak and Shiv Mudra will be seen on the Navi Mumbai Airport route in the coming days.
