Coronavirus has had a major impact on our lives. Things that were regular have now become a distant dream. We are currently in the fifth phase of the lockdown which will remain in effect till June 30, 2020.

However, the Maharashtra government has also floated something that they have dubbed as "Mission Begin Again". Under this, the plan is to unlock the state in a phased manner so that the economic activities can start while we continue to break the chain of spread for Coronavirus.

In phase II of ‘Unlock 1.0’ which started from June 5, the state government has allowed all markets, market areas and shops to function. As per earlier information, the shops in Mumbai could stay open on the odd-even basis. What this means is that shops on one side of the road are to opened on odd dates while shops on the other side on even dates from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

However, the shops in Dadar have now been allowed to extend their work timing till 8:00 PM. Elaborating the same, Kiran Dighavkar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner of G (North) ward said that "All shops in Dadar have to be shut by 8:00 pm only then the people working in the shops will be able to reach their home before the night curfew which starts from 9:00 pm.

Under Lockdown 5.0, the night curfew starts from 9:00 pm and is till 5:00 AM.

The guidelines also state that the shops will be responsible for ensuring social distancing norms. Failing to do will result in authorities shutting down shops and even markets which don't adhere to this.
