Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced that in the next couple of years, the state will fill in 72,000 vacant posts of various departments in the state government. The CM added that three-fold funds have been made available for urban development adding that the state will not back out on their decision of plastic ban adding that they would discuss with the various organisations for a probable solution.

He added that the posts will be filled in two phases, i.e., in the first phase, 36,000 vacant posts will be filled in and the remaining in the second phase.

  • Farming department- 2,500
  • Animal Husbandry- 1,047
  • Fisheries Department- 90
  • Rural Development Department- 11,000
  • Health Department- 10,568
  • Home Department- 7,111
  • Public Works Department- 8,337
  • Water Resources Department- 8,227
  • Water Conservation Department- 2,423
  • Urban Development Department- 1,500

Meanwhile, the CM divulged no more information on recruitment and time-table of the vacant posts and shared no information about the posts which will be recruited in the second phase.
