The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has announced a 24-hour water supply shutdown from April 23 due to essential maintenance work being carried out by the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

The suspension will be in effect from 12 noon on Thursday, April 23, to 12 noon on Friday, April 24. During this period, water supply will be completely cut off in Diva and Kalwa areas, while most parts of Mumbra will also face disruption, except for certain sections in ward numbers 26 and 31. Additionally, parts of Wagle Estate and Kolsehat Khala Gaon in the Majiwada-Manpada region will also be affected.

According to officials, the shutdown is necessary as MIDC undertakes critical repair and improvement work on Barvi Gravity Channel numbers 1, 2, and 3 near the Jambhul water treatment plant. The maintenance is aimed at ensuring long-term stability of the city’s water supply system.

Authorities have urged residents to store sufficient water in advance and use it judiciously. They also warned that water supply may remain low pressure for one to two days after restoration due to system adjustments.
