Thane Municipal Corporation initiates property tax collection centres

Property tax collection centres have been started in all ward offices of Thane Municipal Corporation. Property owners can visit these centers from Monday to Saturday from 10:00 am  to 5:00 pm. Apart from that, the online tax payment facility is also operational.

The Thane Municipal Corporation prepared the property tax payments for the financial year 2023-24 on April 1. The taxpayers were also informed immediately by sending an SMS. The SMS provided a link to download, print and pay property tax for the year 2023-24. For the first time in the history of the municipal corporation, there was an experiment to prepare property tax payments on April 1. Taxpayers of Thanekar also responded enthusiastically by paying property tax online.

INR 30 crore payment collected

The total number of property owners within Thane Municipal Corporation is 5.55 lakh. As of April 17, 25,352 property owners have paid tax amounting to 308.2 million rupees. Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar has set a recovery target of INR 800 crore to the property department for this financial year.

From last week, the facility of paying property tax has been made available at the property tax collection centre of the Municipal Corporation's ward office. The property tax payments for the financial year 2023-24 will be printed and distributed to the taxpayers at the ward level. It will take some time. So currently taxpayers can collect their tax payments from the website of the municipal corporation as well as from the tax collection centre.

Online facility

Thanekar taxpayers should avail the concession by paying the property tax within the prescribed period. The Municipal Corporation has provided the facility of paying property tax online through the link propertytax.thanecity.gov.in and through Google Play, PhonePe, PayTm, BHIM App. The administration has appealed that Thanekar taxpayers should cooperate with the Municipal Corporation by paying property tax.

Avail Discount

If the property tax of the first half is collected together with the property tax of the second half, the taxpayers are given a discount in the general tax of the second half according to the period. A discount of 10 percent till June 15, 04 percent till June 30, 03 percent till July 31 and 02 percent till August 31 will be given. Its details are as follows:
