As ordered by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has started a helpline (No. 022 - 25399617) to register complaints and feedback regarding nullah cleaning. Thanekar can register their response regarding drain cleaning, the municipality will take immediate notice of it and take necessary action, informed Thane Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar.
CM visits Thane to inspect road
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Thane city on Monday evening to inspect the road and nullah cleaning works. Beautification and road work at Conwood Junction, road works in Pawar Nagar, Tikuji Ni Wadi to Neelkanth road, nullah at Anand Nagar on Ghodbunder Road, nullah behind Korum Mall and nullah near Parabwadi at Dnyansadhana College, inspection of sewers under the highway and new subway were also done by CM Eknath Shinde.
During this visit, MLA Pratap Sarnaik, former Mayor Naresh Mhaske, Meenakshi Shinde, Ram Repale, Hanumant Jagdale, Vikas Repale, Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar were present.
Action against officer
After inspecting the sewerage work at Cornwood Chowk, Vasant Vihar, the executive engineer concerned was reprimanded for the delay in the work. Also instructions were given to complete the work immediately so that there is no inconvenience to the citizens. Ordered to seek clarification from the officer who was lax in this work, ordered Shinde.
Penalty to Contractor
Currently 282 road works are going on as per ward committee
A fund of INR 605 crore has been made available by the state government for Thane city. Under this, currently 282 road works are going on as per ward committee. In the first package of INR 214 crore, 127 roads are under construction. So, in the second package of INR 391 crore, 155 roads are under construction. Apart from that, road works under municipal funds, road works under government schemes, road works under other authorities are inspected by Maharashtra Chief Minister.
All these roadworks are expected to be of good quality. IITs have been tasked as a third-party inspection body to check the quality of road works. In case of potholes in the new roads, a penalty of INR 1 lakh per pothole has been stipulated in the tender. Thus, the quality of road works will be maintained.
