Thane Traffic Police has issued a traffic control notification for motorists travelling through Majiwada area. This decision has been taken as the work of laying a pipeline will be undertaken between June 5 and June 8 under the Central Government's AMRUT 2.0 scheme.
This work will be done by the Thane Municipal Corporation's (TMC) water supply department to strengthen the city's water supply and distribution system.
Near the BPCL petrol pump in Majiwada, the pipeline will be laid on the main road connecting Jagare Thane to Ghodbunder Road, which will reduce the width of the road. As a result, traffic congestion has been expressed in this area.
Temporary diversions and restrictions have been imposed to maintain smooth movement of traffic. According to the notification, vehicles going to Ghodbunder Road from Nashik-Mumbai highway will be closed via the slip road near Majiwada flyover and Golden Dice Naka.
Also, all vehicles going from Majiwada flyover to Gokulnagar will not be able to use the relevant route.
Drivers have been urged to use alternative routes. Vehicles on the restricted route will be diverted straight ahead from Majiwada flyover and via Cadbury Junction and the adjacent signal.
These traffic restrictions will be in effect from 5 pm on June 5, 2026 to 8 pm on June 8, 2026.
Police, fire brigade, ambulances, green corridor, oxygen vehicles and other essential service vehicles have been exempted from these restrictions. Thane Traffic Police has appealed to drivers to plan their journey and use alternative routes.
