Amidst the constant increase in the number of coronavirus cases, the rising recovery rate comes across as some amount of relief to the authorities and citizens.

According to a report published in mid-day, the recovery rate of Mira-Bhayandar has increased to 77 per cent. This is higher than the recovery rate of Mumbai which is 71 per cent. There are more than six thousand cases of coronavirus in this area and 5,159 cases have been recovered.

The Mira Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) had decided to do a survey and visited more than 2 lakh homes in five days for the same. 375 people were identified as symptomatic and 55 out of them were tested positive for coronavirus, with the relaxations in the testing norms for the citizen’s authorities have been requesting people to not hesitate and come forward and get themselves tested.

Smbhaji Waghmare, Deputy Commissioner of MBMC said, “80 per cent of patients are either asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic. Besides, we have more than enough quarantine centres with separate rooms for high-risk patients. Although initially, the recovery rate was low, now the rate has increased.”

The MBMC has also given some relaxations in the lockdown in areas that don't come under high risk.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Maharashtra stands at 3,27,031 with more than 1.5 lakh recovered cases.
