The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) on Wednesday, May 19, announced that the district will face 24-hour water cut on Friday, May 21.

According to TMC, the water supply in the city will remain suspended from Friday, May 21, 9 am to Saturday, May 22, 9 am, due to reparation and maintenance work.

The civic body will supply water from its own reserves to various localities of Thane in phases to minimise the discomfort caused to Thanekars.

The civic body also stated that due to the shutdown, the water supply is likely to be maintained at low pressure for the next couple of days till the previous level is restored. Thus, the city might receive less water in the next 1-2 days.

The water supply will remain suspended in areas of Ghodbunder Road, Patlipada, Hiranandani Estate, Brahmand, Vijaynagari, Gaimukh, Gandhi Nagar, Surkarpada, Balkum, Majiwada, Manpada, Kothari Compound, Pawar Nagar and Azad Nagar on Friday from 9 am to 9 pm.

Similarly, from Friday 9 pm to Saturday 9 am, areas of Saket, Rutu Park, Siddheshwar Jail Tank, Johnson, Eternity, Samata Nagar, Kalwa and Mumbra will face water cut.

Meanwhile, rhe Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday, May 11, said that Mumbai will face 10 per cent water cut from May 17-21 owing to a repair work at the Pise Dam, which supplies water to the city.
