The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday, May 31, announced low pressure water supply for four to five days in several parts of the suburb.

In an official statement, the civic body stated that owing to repair works of a water supply channel several areas in Bandra (East), including Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) ward are set to experience low pressure supply between June 4-8.

During the said period (June 4 to June 8), the work of locating the leakages will be carried out and repair works will be taken up. Alongside this, two major inspection works will also be carried out in Santacruz area. Therefore, the entire H/East ward will experience low water pressure, the statement added.

The hydraulics department of the civic body will take up repair works of a leakage in one of the aqueducts that supplies water to parts of the western suburbs from the Vaitarna Lake, one of the seven lakes that supply water to the island city and its suburbs. Hence, the BMC has asked people to use water cautiously.

H/E ward comprises eastern parts of Bandra, Khar, Santacruz, parts of CST Road, Vile Parle, Mahim and Dharavi.

Water supply to the following areas will be affected owing to the low pressure:

Between June 5 and June 8: Low water pressure in Bharat Nagar, Valmiki Nagar, Maharashtra Nagar and the BKC.

Sunday, June 4: Water supply at Bandra-Kurla complex will be affected from 8.30 am to 10.45 am.

Monday, June 5: Low water pressure in the entire H/East sector.

Tuesday, June 6: Low water pressure in the entire H/East sector.
