According to reports, the water supply in K West ward (Andheri-west), K East (Jogeshwari) and P South (Goregaon) areas of Mumbai will remain affected on February 24-25 due to the diversion in pipelines.

Moreover, the diversion of 900mm and 1200mm pipelines will be done by Mumbai’s civic body, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). In addition, the work is touted to begin on February 24 at 5.30 pm and will go on till February 25, 4.30 pm.

The areas of K West ward which will be affected are SV Road, Amrut Nagar, Gulshan Nagar while in P South Bimbisar Nagar and K East are Majas, Jogeshwari railway station and Prem Nagar due to which the civic body has requested citizens from the concerned areas to store sufficient quantity of water.

Earlier, the water supply was hit between February 2 and 3 in the areas of K/West, K/East, H/West and H/East wards due to continual work on work on connecting two main waterways at Andheri (East). Moreover, work has been ongoing as a result of valve replacing work in Chakala. The affected areas were reportedly Bandra West and East along with Andheri West and East.

On the other hand, in the past, the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) had started planning ways in order to tackle water shortage in the area to avoid any major cutbacks in the future. Accordingly, the municipal corporation had decided to cut off the water supply one day a week in all the Panvel Municipal Corporation area. As a result, around 6,300 consumers in PMC will save water.
