According to sources, the rate of growth in the areas of Andheri, Malad and Borivali are higher than other areas across the city.

As the cases of coronavirus witness a spike across Maharashtra, in the western suburbs of Mumbai, instances of COVID-19 cases have witnessed a hike as well.

According to sources, the rate of growth in the areas of Andheri, Malad and Borivali are higher than other areas across the city. On March 27, the number of COVID-19 active patients in the Andheri West area was 3,664. In Andheri East, 2,157 are currently undergoing treatment for the coronavirus. In Malad, 2,157 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment whereas in Borivali 2,463 active patients are being treated for the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, the doubling rate in Mumbai has reduced to an average of 58 days. In Bandra West (H-West) it is 43 days whereas in Chembur West (M-West) it is 44 days and in Goregaon (P-South) it is 45 days. In Andheri West (K-West) and in Ghatkopar (N) it is 50 days each. Compared to other parts of Mumbai, the doubling rate of COVID-19 is 133 days within the boundaries of Division B office (Sandhurst Road and surrounding area).

Moreover, the growth rate in Mumbai has reached an average of 1.17 per cent. In the Bandra West area, the rate has reached 1.65 per cent. The Chembur West area ranks second in the list with a growth rate of 1.59 per cent. On the other hand, in the Goregaon area (P-South) the growth rate has reached 1.55 per cent. However, the lowest incidence rate is 0.52 per cent within the boundaries of BMC's 'B' division office (Sandhurst Road and surrounding areas).
