In recent developments, Shiv Sena MLA Aaditya Thackeray took to Twitter to inform that beautiful artwork has been up for two days at the Worli Seaface School and the Haji Ali Pumping Station in Mumbai.

In the photos shared by the Shiv Sena leader, the walls can be seen adorned with beautiful artworks of hearts and butterflies. The Project was inaugurated on March 12, 2021, by Mr Aaditya Thackeray, Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra along with the presence of Parambir Singh, Commissioner of Mumbai Police and Iqbal Singh Chahal, Commissioner of BMC.

Known as the ‘Corona Quilt Project’, certain artefacts have been erected at various places in the city. The Corona Quilt Project was launched in the early days of the COVID-19 outbreak as a way to reach out to people, discuss self-expression and mental health, and bring different communities together.

Speaking about the same, Gayatri Divecha, Associate Vice President, Good & Green, Godrej Industries Ltd, said, “This year has been more difficult than ever before. As you struggle with the coronavirus, you have many stories and experiences that shape you as an individual, a business, and a group. Being associated with the ‘Corona Quilt Project’, we as the Godrej family are able to build our visual mark on this unique period in history. More than 200 Godrej employees shared their thoughts, fears, hopes, experiences and stories on Digital Square. Our memories will now be displayed in public all over Mumbai along with thousands of others. After this, we plan to exhibit this artwork at our headquarters in Vikhroli - 'Godrej One'. We are happy to be a part of this project. It is a project that demonstrates our strengths and inspires us to connect with our community in an innovative way. ”

Quilting’ is a method of joining layers of any material together. This is like sewing a piece of cloth. The history of sewing these dolls can be traced back to the medieval period. For this particular project, we have used a new method of ‘quilting’ - each of these patches is made from unique items such as old used clothes, bags, tablecloths and paper.

In view of the same, Ace tennis player Sania Mirza stated, "Right now this world needs a little more love, a little more kindness, and a little more empathy." Actor Twinkle Khanna further said, “The earth gives us joy in the form of flowers. The aim is to connect people through art in times of depression. ”

On the other hand, earlier on February 21, the Shiv Sena leader stated that infrastructural agencies in the city will undertake the refurbishment of major arterial roads to make them pedestrian-friendly and provide cycling tracks wherever feasibility is established. This development comes in the view to boost non-motorized transport. He also stated that Mumbai's Western Express Highway (WEH) might soon get a cycle track.

He was speaking at an event where Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray performed the bhoomipujan for the 4.5 km Sewri-Worli connector and inaugurated a cycle track as well as smart parking in Bandra-Kurla Complex, besides throwing open one arm of the flyover at Kalanagar.

Meanwhile, the coastal road project at the Haji Ali coast has worried nearly 600 fisherfolk as it has started reclaiming the Lotus Jetty overlooking the Haji Ali Dargah. The Haji Ali Dargah is a mosque and a dargah located on an islet off the coast of Worli in the southern part of Mumbai. As a consequence of the coastal project, in the last couple of weeks, fishermen were asked to leave their boats and vacate the place.
