Coronavirus cases in the state are steadily increasing, and as per reports, over 10,000 new COVID-19 cases are being recorded every day. This has raised concerns for the administration, and keeping the same in mind, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken stern steps to curb the spread.

Furthermore, the government has also decided to impose a strict lockdown in case the condition worsens, and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has already warned the people regarding the same.

Moreover, CM, in the morning on Thursday, March 11, 2201, visited the COVID centre at the JJ Hospital and checked the status on vaccination. It is reported that he, his wife Rashmi Thackeray, his mother Meenatai Patankar and Shiv Sena secretary Milind Narvekar also got vaccinated.

Present during the visit were Minister Aaditya Thackeray, Principal Secretary Health Dr. Dr. Pradeep Vyas, Director of Medical Education Tatyarao Lahane, among others.

While addressing the media, CM said that he has taken the vaccine and sincerely thanked the staff for conducting the drive in an organised and planned manner. He also stated that the vaccine is being given in such a nice way that one doesn't even know that they are getting the vaccine.

He also emphasised that the risk of coronavirus spread is increasing and one should not fear of getting vaccinated. While the threat is increasing, the vaccine will only protect everyone from this disease and there are no side effects of the same

He also appealed to the people, who are eligible to be vaccinated, to get the same without any concerns in mind. Meanwhile, he asked the people to keep the protection and COVID-19 guidelines in mind as it is equally important to wear a mask in public, wash hands and maintain a safe distance.

COVID-19 crisis is still concerning and the infection has been on the rise for the past few days. If the same does not improve, the state government will have no option but to impose a lockdown. Besides this, the government will observe the condition for the next few days and then decide upon the same soon.
