In recent developments, Indian cricket players Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant have been put in isolation after a social media post surfaced on Twitter of them eating in an outdoor venue.

However, the fan, who was seated next to them, had tweeted about getting a hug from Pant but later retracted the claim after it raised serious questions on a breach of protocol in view of the outbreak of the coronavirus.

Moreover, other than Sharma and Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini, have all been separated from both the India and Australia squads.

Meanwhile, as per reports, the Cricket Australia’s statement informed that a joint probe is on and the five have been isolated from the remaining team. According to the media released, "The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Australia (CA) were today alerted to a video posted on social media that purported to show Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini eating at an outdoor venue in Melbourne on New Year's Day. The BCCI and CA are investigating the matter and seeking to determine whether the outing constitutes a breach of biosecurity protocols."

"In the interim, on the advice of the Australian and Indian medical teams, the aforementioned players have been placed in isolation as a precaution. This will include separating the group of players from the broader Indian and Australian squads when travelling and at the training venue," the CA release added.
