IPL 2020 kicked off in style at Abu Dhabi on September 19, 2020. Chennai Super Kings won the toss and decided to field. Asked to bat first, Mumbai Indians were off to a decent start with openers Rohit Sharma (12) and Quinton de Kock (33) sharing a solid 46-run partnership for the first wicket. However, they could not keep the scoreboard ticking at this fast pace. At the end of 20 overs, Mumbai Indians put a total of 162 for the loss of 9 wickets.
Chennai lost a couple of early wickets but a decent knock by Faf du Plessis and Ambati Rayudu's helped the men in yellow in clinching the match.
Chennai Super Kings beat arch-rivals Mumbai Indians by five wickets.
