It was a do or die match for SunRisers Hyderabad and they managed to shine with both bat and bowl. SRH won the toss and decided to bowl first. MI has had a good season and it was looking at maintaining their winning momentum. What's more, skipper Rohit Sharma was also back after missing four matches due to an injury.
However, they were not able to get the desired output from this match. Put in to bat first, MI continued to lose wickets at regular intervals. Also, since its key bowlers Bumrah and Boult were being rested ahead of the playoffs, the others could not do any damage to the top order of SRH and MI lost the match by 10 wickets.
Rohit in the post-match presentation talking about this match said, "Not the day we want to remember, probably our worst performance of the season."
Now, MI will face DC at the first qualifiers for this season.
