While the country continues to grapple with the second wave, IPL managed to keep people distracted. On April 29, there were two matches scheduled. In the first Mumbai Indians took on Rajasthan Royals while in the second, it was Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders.

Mumbai Indians managed a comfortable victory against Rajasthan Royals. This was Rajasthan Royals' fourth loss in six matches. They have only four points so far.

Sanju Samson in the post-match presentation shared that they were not able to put enough runs on the board and which resulted in their big loss. He said, "We were a few runs short, 20-25 short. We built it up nicely and didn't capitalise. I think they had a very decent bowling line-up, we also have a good bowling line-up. It's just about our batters performing a little more and I'm sure we'll do it".

Batting first Rajasthan Royals' set up the target of 172 runs. A superb knock by Quinton de Kock's who remained unbeaten 70, helped MI chase this feat with 9 balls to spare.

The left-handed Proteas opener's 63-run stand with Krunal Pandya (39) for the third wicket helped MI chase the target with total ease. Even while bowling MI seemed to be in their element. Jasprit Bumrah led the way and helped put the brakes on RR's innings and they were restricted to 171/4.

It was Trent Boult that claimed the wicket of RR captain Sanju Samson (42) in the 18th over. The wicket ended a 57-run stand between Samson and Dube that came off 49 balls for the third wicket and was looking threatening at that time.
