With the Indian Premier League Auction 2021 being held in Chennai on Thursday, February 18, two incidents amidst the bidding process caught warmed the hearts of the onlookers.

  • Indian cricketer Shah rukh Khan turned out to be one of the top players for the franchise at the Indian Premier League 2021 auction. Having kept his base price at INR 20 lakhs, the 25-year-old found himself in a bidding war and was sold to the Punjab Kings for INR 5.25 crores, i.e. more than 26 times his base price which evoked a funny and cute reaction from actor Preity Zinta who happens to be one of the owners of the franchise. Zinta exclaimed, “We got Shahrukh” as soon as the bidding process was over leading to fans commenting on Veer-Zaara being together in the same team for the IPL.

  • In another funny incident, netizens were left confused over Sachin Baby to be the son of Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin Baby hails from Kerala and made his IPL debut in 2013 for Rajasthan Royals but managed to play only one match. However, he was selected by RCB in 2016 and played two seasons with the Bangalore franchise. In 2018, he was picked by SRH but did not find a place in the team even once. This year in the IPL Auction 2021, he was picked by his old team RCB for his base price of INR 20 lakhs. On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar’s son Arjun Tendulkar was roped in by Mumbai Indians for his base price of INR 20 lakhs.
