After Rishabh Pant's brilliance in Delhi Daredevils' previous game, a close contest was expected against the Mumbai franchise. However, the Mumbai Indians ensured that Delhi didn't take control of the game at any point. Their once 146 run victory has all but ensured their spot in the playoffs.
After being put into bat, Mumbai Indians put up a mammoth total of 212 for the loss of 3 wickets. Lendl Simmons top scored with 66, followed with Pollard with 63. MI lived up to the high scoring games that the Feroz Shah Kotla has put up in the recent past.
Mumbai steamed in with quick, early wickets and rocked the Delhi top order. Harbhajan Singh and Karn Sharma cleaned up the Delhi innings with three wickets a piece. Delhi collapsed and the inexperience of the batting line-up proved fatal.
MI has perched themselves comfortably on top of the table with 18 points.
