The India-New Zealand T20 series concluded with the visitors whitewashing the hosts 5-0. Despite being in a position to win, in three of the five matches, the Kiwis failed keep their calm and faced loss in the matches, two of which had ended in Super Over. One of the most impressive players throughout the series was Rohit Sharma who played some stellar innings to help India win the bilateral series.

The Indian ODI vice-captain was recently asked in an interview about his role model who he thinks stays calm on the field. In his reply, he said that former Indian skipper MS Dhoni was the calmest cricketer he has seen on the field.

Mumbai batsman and Indian opener, Rohit Sharma recently appeared on a chat show, where Sharma, who made his debut under MS Dhoni during the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 said that the reason behind his success, i.e. three ICC trophies for India and three IPL titles for Chennai Super Kings, was his (Dhoni's) calm attitude and approach

In the interview, he further admitted that MS Dhoni 'is the best captain Indian has seen', India knows MS Dhoni is the one who has been like that. It has helped him to make such good decisions on the field and now you see he is the most successful Indian captain, having all three ICC Trophies with him and many IPL titles as well. He is the best captain India has seen and there is a reason behind it and that reason is him being calm and composed under pressure situation.”

Sharma further added that he's seen Dhoni handle a lot of young bowlers when they get under pressure. He said that the former Indian captain would put his arm around and talk to them about what to do and what not to do.

India will now lock horns with New Zealand in a three-match ODI series on February 5, 2020.
