The second clash between Australia Women and India women resulted into the victory of Team Australia by 36 runs. Even after opener Jemimah Rodrigues scored her maiden T20 fifty, India failed to register their victory in the Tri-series.

Australia had put up a target of 187 after India won the toss and elected to bowl first. India were off with a shaky start as Megan Schutt, right arm medium pacer got herself a hat-trick. She got the wickets of Smriti Mandhana and Mithali Raj in the last two balls of her first over and bagged the wicket of Deepti Sharma on the first ball of her second over. Delissa Kimmince and Ashleigh Gardner also took one wicket each.

After losing the three initial wickets, Indian batswomen Jemimah Rodrigues and Harmanpreet Kaur put up a fifty-run partnership but due to the rising run rate, India weren't able to convert it into a victory. Skipper Harmanpreet scored 33 off 30 deliveries.

Earlier, Australia women put up a massive score of 186 with help of opener Beth Mooney’s 71 runs off 46 balls and Elyse Villani’s 61 runs off 42 deliveries. The two batswomen stitched a partnership of 114 runs leading Australia to a strong total.

Megan Schutt was adjudged the player of the match for her hat-trick and fiery bowling. With this defeat, India are out of the Tri-series. India women will now play their last scheduled match against England women on March 29.
