On Thursday, the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) released the player retention list for Women's Premier League 2024. It announced the complete list of players that were retained and released by all the five franchises in the Indian league. 60 players have been retained, while 29 have been dropped.

Gujarat Giants have released 11 out of the 19 players ahead of the upcoming player auctions. As announced by the BCCI on Thursday, October 19), in total, the five franchises combined to retain only 29 out of 89 players for the second season. 

Giants did not retain the Australian trio of Annabel Sutherland, Kim Garth and Georgia Wareham along with Sophia Dunkley. Beth Mooney, who missed the first season owing to an injury, was retained.

Delhi Capitals have retained the most players from their original squad and have released Aparna Mondal, Jasia Akhter and Tara Norris. Mumbai Indians and UP Warriorz have retained 13 players each, and released four.

Royal Challengers Bangalore have released three foreigners, Dane van Niekerk, Megan Schutt and Erin Burns, besides four domestic cricketers.
