A few months back, the criminal atrocities in Balrampur and Hathra in Uttar Pradesh shook the entire country. Rape cases in India have seen a rise, and people have been waiting for the government to do something about it.
In a recently reported incident, a 16-year-old girl was allegedly assaulted at gunpoint in Mumbai's Malvani area. Following the complaint, a case has been registered at Malvani police station and ever since then, the accused is absconding.
As per reports, the accused and the victim live in Malad's Malvani area and belong to the same family. The accused had been stalking the girl and had an eye on her for the past many days. It is said that on Monday, November 2, 2020, the accused showed the girl a revolver and took advantage of no one being at home, by forcibly torturing her.
The victim filed a complaint and said that the accused had threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident. She also informed her mother about the same after which other members of the family arrived upon knowing about the heinous activity.
The family has lodged a complaint at Malvani police station, and ever since then, the accused has fled from the area. Police officials from the Malvani police station stated that a case has been registered against the accused under sections 376 (f), 506 (2), 4,5 (d) and 6 POSCOs, including IPC.
The police are currently searching for the absconding accused.
