On Tuesday, November 30, the Bhiwandi police arrested 40 immigrants from Bangladesh for allegedly staying in India without valid documents said the police, reported the news agency ANI.

Fake passports, Aadhaar cards, PAN Cards and 28 mobile phones worth INR 94,000 have reportedly been recovered by the police. Within three different police limits in Bhiwandi, these Bangladeshi immigrants are claimed to have been residing.

They were arrested in the vicinity of Bhiwandi city in the Thane district. Additionally, a case under the Indian Passport Act and The Foreign Nationals Act has been filed. It was the result of raids being conducted in the area that the arrests were made.

In the documents that were recovered from the Bangladeshi nationals, addresses of Mumbai, Bhiwandi and Gujarat were alleged to be mentioned. Additionally, they were employed at various factories in Bhiwandi.

An aggregate of 20 immigrants were nabbed in Shanti Nagar, 10 arrests each were made in the limitations of the Bhiwandi town and Narpoli police station.

Based on the accounts, the police elaborated on how the immigrants were making use of an app to interact with their relatives back home. Apart from this, they also made use of the app to talk to the person who allegedly assisted them in crossing the border.
