The property unit sleuths of Mumbai Police have arrested a man with a sand boa snake weighing 3 kg and worth Rs 30 lakh in the international market. Police officers have claimed that this is the biggest sand boa seized in recent past. The sand boa smuggling is rising due to many superstitions related to this particular kind of snake.

Acting on a tip-off, property unit sleuths of Mumbai Police laid a trap and arrested one Navid Shaikh (36), a resident of Virar, and seized the dark-brown sand boa snake from his possession. As per police, Shaikh is a real estate agent and he got involved in this business due to the slack season in real estate business.

It is pertinent to note here that there is a superstition among people that sand boa finds out a treasure.
