Five people from Mumbai on vacation drown in sea in Ratnagiri

A total of seven people were on their way to Ganpatipule when they decided to stop by at Aare-Ware beach. The D’souza family and the Masters family were family friends.

Family trips are merry outings that help you cherish memories with your family. However, a recent famliy picnic for the D’souza family turned into a fateful event. The family was having fun in the sea when suddenly the water level rose and five out the seven people drowned including two men and three women.

The D’souza family lived at Borivali in Mumbai and were at Ratnagiri for their summer vacation. Ratnagiri has been bestowed by the nature and is quite famous for the its natural beauty. The family was at the Aare-Ware beach to witness the beauty. However, they faced the nature’s wrath and five people – Racher D’souza (19), Mathew D’souza (18), Kenneth Masters (54), Monica D’souza (44) and Sanomi D’souza (22) – died by drowning. Out of the seven people, Leena Kenneth Masters and Reeta D’souza did not enter the water and survived the mishap.

A total of seven people were on their way to Ganpatipule when they decided to stop by at Aare-Ware beach. The D’souza family and the Masters family were family friends. The locals told that they had advised the victims against going in the sea but they did not pay any heed to their advice and ventured deep into the sea where they drowned due to getting stuck in a whirlpool.

The police searched for the victims as soon as they received the news and all the five dead bodies were retrieved during the search operation.
