In a horrifying incident that took place in a Bhayander local train, a 7-day-old infant boy was found in a polythene bag under the motorman's seat on Saturday, June 1. The incident came to light when Dadar's Railway Police Force (RPF) saw the bag and rushed the infant to Sion Hospital.

The baby is in a stable condition in the hospital's pediatric ward. A complaint has been registered in Dadar's RPF and they are in search of his parents. They have been booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 317 for exposure and abandonment of child under twelve years

Such incidences throw light on the socio-economic problems which at times lead to parents abandoning the child. The future of these kids is up in the air with tremendous uncertainty.
