In recent developments, a fire has been reported at a building in Sion, located in Mumbai City, on Monday, December 28.
The fire broke out in a flat on the second floor of a residential building at the Pratikshanagar area. However, no casualties were reported as the family members came out on time.
According to sources, the fridge and the gas cylinder reportedly caught fire due to a short circuit in the house. The members of the household were asleep, however, as the intensity of the fire increased, they woke up and fled the scene.
As per reports, locals immediately informed the fire brigade about the incident. In view of the situation, four fire trucks rushed to the spot. The hour-long effort has brought the fire under control. Unfortunately, by the time the fire brigade arrived, the entire flat had been burnt to ashes. The fire has now been contained and cooling work is underway.
