Four friends brutally beat up one of their friends and killed him by shooting him in the head with a revolver while he was drinking in a quarry in Mharal village limits on Tuesday night. Two of the killers have been arrested by the Titwala police. Two people are absconding. Two of the accused are innkeepers. The court has sentenced two people to five days of police custody.


The deceased youth has been identified as Rajan Sham Yerkar alias Janu. He lives in Surya Nagar area of Mharal village. On Tuesday night, deceased Rajan and his four friends Rohit Bhalekar, Parvez Sheikh, Sunil Waghmare, Sameer Chavan were drinking alcohol in a stone quarry near Mharal village. A verbal argument broke out between Rajan and four others while drinking alcohol. The quarrel escalated. Other friends got together and beat up Rajan.

Taking a revolver near Parvez, Rohit fired two bullets in the air. The third bullet entered Rajan's head. He died on the spot. As soon as Rajan's relatives got to know this information, they took Rajan to Ulhasnagar Central Hospital. Doctors declared him dead there.


Bhalekar, Waghmare are history sheeters. Cases have already been registered against him in Kalyan Railway Police, Kolsewadi, Vishnu Nagar Police Station. Police have registered a case against four accused. Two people are under arrest. Police are searching for two absconding accused. Assistant Police Inspector Sandeep Shingte is investigating.
