
A young woman selling old items online was duped of INR 1.5 lakh by a man pretending to be an army officer. The young woman has filed a complaint at the Vikhroli police station in this case and the police have registered a case and started an investigation.
The 23-year-old woman who was cheated lives in Vikhroli area and works in a private company. She had some old electrical appliances which she wanted to sell. She advertised it on an online goods sales website. Shortly after, she received a message from a man named Sanjay Kumar who expressed his desire to buy these items and took the girl's mobile number. He engaged the girl in conversation by telling her that he was an officer in the army.
Then, citing various reasons, 1 lakh 45 thousand rupees was withdrawn from her own bank account. The girl was then asked to send some more money to get the money back. However, the girl realised that she was being cheated. She immediately informed the cyber police about this. After that, she filed a complaint in this regard at the Vikhroli police station. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
