The police have exposed a gang for cheating people and providing them with fake Pan Cards. The shocking part of this matter is that the gang used the official letterhead of an MLA and a Corporator to create the Pan Card. An MLA and a corporator from Congress and another corporator from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are under the radar of police investigation.
In regard to this case, a few days ago, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch Bureau’s unit had arrested Sudhir Chaudhary from Pardhuni area and searched his house Bekkhla. During the search, the police found papers related to customer transactions and the documents related to bank service tax. In further investigation, the police noticed that there are 10 more accounts involved in these transactions.
Five people were identified after the police investigated the bank accounts and they lived in Kalyan and Dombivali. The papers submitted to the banks informed that these five people were the owners of an international company. However, in reality, two of them ran this scam and three worked as the loaders.
During the interrogation after taking them in the custody, the police came to know that Sudhir Chaudhary tricked them in the name of getting them employed and took signatures of these people only to submit those documents in the bank.
The investigation has also revealed that the Pan Card used to open the bank accounts were also fake and almost 81 Pan Cards were seized. Also, the official letterheads of the leaders from BJP and Congress were used - BJP’s Mahant Chaubey and Congress’ Supriya Sunil More and Ameen Patil were named by the police.
