BEST’s vigilance department’s chief sub-officer R J Singh carried out a raid on Friday at Bombay Tea Straining MFG for stealing power worth Rs. 10 crores.This company is situated at Mazgaon’s Sitafalwadi.
The BEST’s vigilance department received the tip that power was being illegally used. This illegal act caused BEST loss worth Rs. 10 crores. BEST has filed a police complaint at Byculla police station against the accused company. One month back, BEST vigilance department had carried out a similar raid in Mahim’s Status Gourmet restaurant and Banquet hall for alleged power theft. BEST then slapped a claim of Rs. 4.55 crores for stealing power.
