The Special Task Force (STF) of the Government Railway Police (GRP) busted a gang of robbers who used to loot commuters travelling in express trains. The arrested accused are identified as Sahil Ahmed Abdul Rehman Mansoori (33) and Neeraj Umakant Rawat (29). The STF sleuths have claimed that they have cracked six crimes committed by the arrested accused.

According to information, the modus operandi of the accused was to target rich commuters travelling in long-distance trains. They used to befriend the commuter and later offered him/her something to eat that used to be mixed with chloroform. Soon after that, they used to rob the commuter and flee from the place. The gang had looted one Dharajan Keshwani (70) in the month of February. These accused had stolen Keshwani’s ATM cards and cash. With these stolen ATMs, these accused had done shopping of Rs 2.81 lakh and this shopping became responsible for landing them behind the bars.

The transactions carried out by using Keshwani’s ATM cards gave clue to the police who traced them first to Dadar and then to Jhansi from where they were nabbed.
The third accomplice of the accused, Deepak Soni, is reported absconding.
