NCB arrests Dia Mirza's ex-manager Rahila Furniturewala, three others

According to reports, two British were also booked for trying to smuggle 200 kg marijuana. They were arrested after an operation was undertaken. NCB received information about the smuggling and then conducted this operation.

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested four people, including Dia Mirza’s former manager, Rahila Furniturewala and her sister, on Saturday, January 9, in relation to the ongoing investigation in actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death case.

Besides, two British were also booked for trying to smuggle 200 kg marijuana. They were arrested after an operation was undertaken. NCB received information about the smuggling and then conducted this operation.

In a statement released, NCB said, on the basis of specific information, NCB Mumbai effected a seizure of Ganja from one courier at Bandra West.

In the follow-up operation, a huge stash of imported strains of Ganja was recovered from a resident of Jaswant Heights Khar west named Karan Sajnani (British National), read the statement.

Further revelations by Karan Sajnani stated that Ganja Bud was recovered from Rahila Furniturewala who is also suspect in the investigation of Cr. No. 16/2020 of Mumbai Zonal Unit. The sister of Rahila Furniturewala named Shaista Furniturewala was also arrested as she too was found in possession of Ganja. Total contraband seized was approximately 200 kg.

Moreover, the contraband was packed in the form of pre-rolled Ganja Joints by Karan Sajnani and was marketed to high-class clients in Mumbai and various other states. The smuggling activity was supported by Rahila Furniturewala by providing financial and other aids.

NCB is looking for Sushant's friend and Assistant Director Rishikesh Pawar who has been absconding since Sunday, January 10, said a senior official connected to probe told media agencies.

The latest development pertains to drugs-related case linked to the death of Sushant, who was found dead at his Bandra flat in Mumbai on June 14. 

Earlier, Bollywood actors like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and several others have also been questioned by the NCB in relation to this case.
