Lieutenant Colonel Prasad Purohit, the main accused in the Malegaon blast case, has challenged the decision of National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) special court. Accordingly, Bombay High Court will hear Purohit’s petition on Monday.

Earlier in 2008, Purohit along with Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur, and other accused were to be prosecuted under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in connection with the Malegaon blast case. Purohit challenged the decision in NIA special court. However, NIA court on October 20 decided to prosecute the accused under UAPA only.

Purohit’s petition was supposed to be heard on Thursday but it was postponed as the judge who was to hear the petition was absent.
