A college student, who was under mental stress due to an argument in a train, has committed suicide. This is a heartbreaking incident in the Teesgaon Naka area of Kalyan East. The name of the student who committed suicide is Arnav Khaire.
Arnav was on his way to college in Mulund when he was hit by a train, which led to an argument with some passengers. This dispute escalated into a Hindi-Marathi language dispute.
Arnav Khaire was brutally beaten up by four to five people over this dispute. After this beating, Arnav Khaire, who was mentally stressed, committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence.
Arnav's father Jitendra Khaire said that he was going to college by train. When the train jolted, he asked the person in front of him in Hindi to move forward.
At this time, a passenger directly whispered to Arnav. "Can't you speak Marathi? Are you ashamed to speak Marathi?" My son was telling me this in a timid tone.
A group of passengers on the train not only beat Arnav but also threatened him. Even though Arnav was supposed to get off at Mulund, he got off at Thane instead. He told his father that he didn't want to escalate the fight.
My son is gone, but such things should not happen in the future. There should be no arguments over language, said Jitendra Khaire. Based on the complaint of Jitendra Khaire, Kolsewadi police have registered a case. The police have started further investigation.
