On Tuesday, December 4, the "Bulli Bai" app case accused Vishal Kumar was produced before Bandra Court in Mumbai. The court sent Kumar to police custody till January 10, reports stated.
News agency ANI quoted Kumar's lawyer, Advocate D. Prajapati, "My client has been sent to police custody till January 10. My client is falsely implicated in this case. Police had filed an application to obtain a search warrant".
Citizens also took to Twitter to appreciate the prompt action taken by the authorities in the said case.

Apart from this, on Tuesday, Mumbai Police also detained a woman in Uttarakhand who is believed to be the mastermind behind the 'Bulli Bai' app, claimed accounts. Earlier in the day, 21-year-old Kumar was questioned for several hours by the police.
According to reports, the detained woman and Kumar became friends via Instagram. Officials have also alleged that the racket behind the app includes many more people. Additionally, on December 31 Kumar changed his name and took up a name related to the Sikh community, the official added.
The police on Monday, January 3, detained Kumar from Bengaluru and brought him for questioning to Mumbai. Moreover, a case has also been registered against unknown culprits under relevant sections of IPC and the IT Act.
